I know that this is supposed to be a blog about my makeup journey and providing tips & tricks but over the last few weeks I’ve been realizing something related to beauty and I wanted to share.
I’m normally the woman who has to wear makeup when I go out because I’m not comfortable enough in my natural skin to go outside. By also doing this, it takes me 20-30 minutes to get ready before I can go anywhere. Now, to some people, this might seem strange but others might find this concept extremely relatable. We live in a society where people are constantly needing to be “perfect” and if they’re not, they’ll be judged for it and I find this unfair. People are supposed to be accepted for their flaws, not treated lesser for them.
These past couple of weeks I’ve been trying out a new beauty look and I’ve been enjoying it. Instead of eyeliner, concealer, foundation, bronzer, lipstick & powder; I’ve gotten myself down to a foundation, lipstick, and mascara. Quite frankly I’m proud of myself for doing this because I’ve been more willing to accept my skin for what it is.
Now, I realize that you could be asking yourself why I’m writing about this and the answer is actually quite simple. For those of you who do a full-fledged face every day, I challenge you to get your everyday makeup down to 3 products. If you do this, comment below what your full face to bare face was. By doing this, I hope you remember to keep your head up. I understand that you’re wondering what people are thinking about you but remember that you’re beautiful and that’s all that matters.
